It’s that time of year again when apples are abundant, fall is in the air, and the smell of cinnamon is in the kitchen.  This is by far the most simple apple sauce (with an added treat) that you will ever make and all you need is a crock pot.

  1. Core and peel your *apples and *pears (you want hard pears)
  2. Place them in the crock pot with 1/8 of a cup of water (this will prevent any harsh browning)
  3. Add as much cinnamon as you like and coat the apples and pears – Cinnamon is an anti-inflammatory

Set the crock pot on low and there you go!

* I a variety of apples in my sauce – Granny Smith, Macintosh, Macoun, Cortland, Gala, and Honeycrisp.  I like Bartlet and/or Red pears . Be creative!  Have Fun!

I use an apple corer because it’s super easy, saves time, and it ensures my slices are uniform so they cook evenly.  I generally make my applepearsauce at night and let it go until the morning (about 8-hours cooking time).

This is the best applepearsauce ever, trust me!  For a special treat you can serve it warm with a scoop of Vanilla So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream.
